The Two Decks Trading Ring

Originally, this started out as an analog trading list with people who have 2 tape decks with at least one of them being a 2 or 3 head deck. People were able to trade tapes with other 2/3 head deck people, were able to control levels, and most importantly keep out all the sloppy sounding recordings and taping methods that were rampant on rmp.

Things have changed since then. For one, it's hard to find people on rmp who still trade analogs (or for that matter anywhere). Most tapers now prefer to transfer to cd rather than analog, and we are seeing that analogs have taken the back seat in spreading music.

So what are we still doing here??? Well this trading ring has always been small in numbers and the people who trade on here honestly love and understand music. A lot of us have cd burners now and want to continue and trade cd's on the list. One can still sign onto the list and trade analogs with the assurance he/she trading with a two decks person. At the same time he/she knows that it these are the same people who took the time and good care of their decks in their analog days and are now burning his/her cd's. This list has become both analog and cd-r, although the cd-r part isn't advertised to keep the numbers down. We welcome kind people with open arms, and you'll find that people are always pretty positive and always glad to spin and b+p.

Lastly, the trees we've had on this list have been amazing. Take a look at our old tree structures to see what we've done. They are mostly classics -- shows that everyone should have but few actually do. I like to look at our trees as a "Dick's Picks." Yes its true, I want to be the Dick Latvala of Phish and this is my outlet. There are lots more surprises as far as trees and plenty of reason to stick around to spread out good music to good people.
